Watery faeces are a common cause of hemorrhoids in children. A child may sit on the toilet for too long during a bout of diarrhea but this should be discouraged as it puts pressure on the rectum.

Other causes:

Poor diet.

Low fluid consumption, in particular water.

Inadequate excercise

Hemorrhoid symptoms: what to look for.

Blood in the toilet or on the toilet paper.

Pain when passing a stool.

Straining while sat on the loo.

Tearful and cranky notably around toilet time.

PAIN. Your child may also avoid going to the toilet because they recognise it's going to be painful.  

ICHING. You might observe your child scratching. This can cause the hemorrhoids to bleed which in turn can  cause infection and inflammation.

CAUTION: Anal itching can also be a symptom of a childhood condition known as Threadworm, please have it checked out by a Pediatrician.

2. Water is the fluid of good health, be certain your child is getting enough.

3. See to it that your child gets plenty of exercise.

Check your child stays clean and dry.

SITZ BATHS. Sitting your child in a few inches of warm water  several times a day,to which epsom salts  have been added will soothe the anal area and bring relief. 

PAIN RELIEF. Buying ready made ice packs ( less messy)or wrapping ice in a cloth and placing it on your childs anal area will sooth any inflamation. and reduce swelling.

Hugs, and more hugs are all part of encouraging your little one to do as you ask.
